From Bare Ground to Bold Cider

The story of an Okanagan orchard, years of obsession, and cider worth the wait.

Our Philosophy

Hardcore Cider Co. is a premium craft cidery rooted in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. We grow our own apples, press them within 24 hours of harvest, and ferment under pressure in stainless steel — no shortcuts, no concentrates, no compromises. This is cider made the hard way, because that's the only way worth doing it.

From Vision to Reality

We purchased a vacant Kelowna estate with one uncompromising vision: to grow apples specifically for cider. Every rootstock was chosen with intention — Dabinett, Kingston Black, Golden Russet — each selected for the complexity, tannin, and acidity that would define our expressions. From bare ground to first harvest, we built the foundation. Then the real work began.

What started as an Okanagan obsession has become a thriving craft cidery producing premium cider for those who drink with intention — across Canada and growing. We've since expanded to a second orchard in Vernon, where our cidery now lives. Patience, integrity, and uncompromising standards create something worth the wait. Unapologetically Hardcore.

The Founder's Journey: From Hobby to Obsession

It started as a hobby. Our founder Jeff was frustrated with mass-produced cider — the industrial methods, the artificial flavours, the lack of soul. So he made cider on his own terms, obsessing over every detail. Friends loved it. They wanted more.

That's when the real work began. Years of studying fermentation science, winemaking techniques, and traditional craft methods. Hundreds of test batches taught us what works and what doesn't. We refused to launch until the cider was worth putting our name on.

Today, Jeff personally runs the orchards and handcrafts every batch — in the fields during harvest, in the fermentation room monitoring temperatures, in the lab testing every expression. This hands-on involvement isn't a philosophy. It's the only way we know how to work.

Our Craft: Innovation Meets Integrity

Hardcore Cider Co. exists because our founder refused to accept "the way things are done." We studied what winemakers and brewers had already perfected — then applied the best of both worlds to cider. While the industry relies on industrial methods, we use only real fruit. Every piece of fruit is chosen for quality, not convenience.

We developed our own techniques: pressure-fermentation to protect delicate aromatics, barrel aging to build complexity, sterile filtration to achieve crystal clarity. The result is cider that's crisp yet complex, fruit-forward with dry elegance, and layered with complexity that demands to be taken seriously.

Never pasteurised. Never compromised. Cider that demands to be taken seriously.

Terroir & Estate Excellence

The Okanagan Valley doesn't apologize for its ambitions. This narrow valley stretches over 250 kilometres through south-central British Columbia, blessed with a unique microclimate that stands among the world's great growing regions. The secret lies in the terroir: glacial soils rich in minerals, over 2,000 hours of annual sunshine, warm days and cool nights that preserve acidity and aromatics, and low rainfall that concentrates flavour in the fruit.

That terroir is the foundation of everything we make. Our estate orchard in Kelowna grows Dabinett, Kingston Black, and Golden Russet apples — each selected for their unique contribution to complexity, tannin, and acidity. We supplement with select partnerships from local Okanagan growers who share our obsession with quality fruit.

Complete control over our fruit — from soil to harvest — is what defines our flavour profile and our commitment to this place. This is what happens when you own the orchard and refuse to cut corners.

Small Batches, Direct to You

The best cider comes from knowing exactly who made it. That's why we've chosen to sell exclusively direct-to-consumer through our website and Cider Club — no liquor stores, no middlemen, just us and you.

Our cidery is small and family-run. We craft in small batches using fresh apples and fruit sourced locally whenever possible. When the season's harvest runs out, so does our cider — until the following year. This isn't a limitation; it's what makes our cider special. Each batch is seasonal, limited, and crafted with care.

Order online and we'll bring the Okanagan to your door. We also attend festivals and special events throughout British Columbia, so you might just find us pouring at your favourite gathering.

This scarcity is intentional. It's the mark of authentic, small-batch craft. When you buy Hardcore Cider Co., you're buying into something that can't be scaled.

When you choose Hardcore Cider Co., you're choosing a land-based cidery that refuses to cut corners. You're supporting an Okanagan orchard, a hands-on founder, and a philosophy that puts your palate first.

This is cider done right. We're glad you found us.
